The live sessions presented here were recorded on October 13th 1993 at New George’s, a nightclub and concert venue located in San Rafael, California. There’s an oft-recounted story how the Beatles used Bobby Parker’s riff from his ‘Watch Your Step’ for their hit ‘I Feel Fine’ and Led Zeppelin used it on ‘Moby Dick’ without credit on their second album. That song is of course featured here on CD2, which also includes several tracks together with Carlos Santana guesting on guitar. Bobby passed on in October 2013 aged 76 following a heart attack. He left a small but impressive body of blues recordings for us to enjoy, many of which feature on the Rhythm And Blues Records release ‘Soul Of The Blues’, a double CD covering his 45s from 1954 through to 1968. Plus now we have this excellent 1993 live set of blues and R&B.
