Headlong into the back alleys of the Massif Central, Brama have chosen the merciless demands of a trio to give full expression to the trance of their fierce, authentic psychedelic rock, the kind that rinses your head and sends you soaring far away, a vertiginous slap in the face that immediately puts you back in your right mind. With their hypnotic guitar and drums, transfigured hurdy-gurdy with pedals, tapping drone and luminous Occitan vocals, Brama turn clichés on their head, drawing on the depths of popular tradition to shape the most contemporary of discourses. Experimental and as free as a bird, the young trio take on a sunny, radiant folklore, dancing with sweat and a lot of rage, to redraw the lines of a stormy poetry, a petulant, polyphonic DIY with noise accents and the sweet scent of drone. But if the music is fascinating, a cable stretched to the extreme between the ancestral body of an all-powerful hurdy-gurdy and a furious guitar/drums, it's the vocals, plucked from this maelstrom of sound, that raise this original construction to heights rarely experienced here. In concert, the whole band undulates, veers off course and bends to the demands of a constantly shifting material, far removed from the codes of the binary and the common place.
