Presenting two hugely collectable Instrumental albums from the early 60s, plus bonus tracks. Quintessential one-hit wonders THE DUALS were a shortlived teenaged guitar duo, who teamed up just long enough to cut the classic West Coast Hot Rod/Drag anthem, ‘Stick Shift’. One of the genre’s earliest national hits, it connected with Hot Rod and nascent Surf music fans, selling some 500,000 copies. However, the duo drifted apart after cutting an LP and one further 45rpm. THE RAIDERS were an equally shortlived, studio-only band, built around guitarist Tommy Allsup, whose recorded legacy likewise runs to an LP and a non-album single. Their revival of ‘Dardanella’ was a huge hit in Scandinavia, in 1962, while their LP “Twistin’ The Country Classics” is something of a ‘must-have’ collectors’ item, appealing equally to Instro and Surf fans.
