Five years after their acclaimed debut, they are back: Hamburg beat architect Viktor Marek, now a music impresario between Sicily and Burkina Faso, and Pakistani sitar virtuoso Ashraf Sharif Khan, scion of a centuries-old musical dynasty. Together they are now officially known as the Sufi Dub Brothers - and are releasing their second album: "The Return Of The Sufi Dub Brothers". Their music breaks down categories: South Asian classical music meets dub echoes, acid and hip hop, a maelstrom of hypnotic sitar lines and electronic beats. In "Doumba", Patrick Kabré from Burkina Faso expands the spectrum to include vocals and activism. The result: a psychedelic, high-energy soundtrack that plays both the dancefloor and inner space. Virtuoso, cosmic, unpredictable - welcome back!
