"Communication", the first real solo album by ex-Kraftwerk member Karl Bartos, was originally released in 2003, 13 years after Bartos' departure from the Düsseldorf electronic band. In 2016, another 13 years later, the album was re-released on Trocadero, completely remastered and with the bonus track "Camera Obscura". Long out of print on vinyl, “Communication” now got re-pressed by the label due to demand. About the album: "Communication" is not just a re-release. It is the reload of a pop classic that is more topical today than ever. "'Communication' is about how images determine our view of the world and how electronic media are changing the content of our culture," said Bartos on occasion of its release in 2003. This topic has lost none of its urgency and truthfulness. Quite the opposite. Today, the media world that the album describes has become so commonplace that its impact is no longer even noticed.
