ONE OF FRENCH ROCK'S MOST LEGENDARY BANDS
In 16 years of incandescence (83-99), 8 albums and over 700 concerts, Les Thugs were among those who gave French rock its letters of nobility, superbly traversing all the trends of the 80s and 90s, always retaining a fierce identity and that distinctive sound, at the crossroads of garage-punk, hardcore, grunge and emopop (with a few homeopathic doses of new-wave, punkabilly, psyche or pop depending on the period...). Atomic bomb in the face', '747 on take-off', 'Hooray rock'n'roll', 'sonic maelstrom', 'choreography of tumult', the Thugs label has made a lasting impression with a series of wickedly compact, effective and melodic standards.
Long regarded abroad as the only genuine French rock'n'roll band of international stature, praised late in life by the media, but not half-heartedly, the band remains a benchmark for the French rock'n'roll scene.
