“Montevideano: Luciano Supervielle and the Montevideo Philharmonic Orchestra” puts together a collection of pieces which, through a subtle accompaniment of electronic programming and synthesizers, generates a unique merge of orchestral music, Rio de la Plata music and new tendencies in electronic music and hip-hop.

Montevideano is a natural extension of Luciano Supervielle's orchestral path. Martín García, artistic director of the Philharmonic, thought Supervielle was one of the ideal composers to carry out a concert dedicated to the city of Montevideo at the legendary Teatro Solís. Luciano worked for several months with the director on the project, choosing the repertoire and then devising the arrangements and orchestration with Álvaro Hagopián. Some compositions had already been performed with a string orchestra, others like "¿Donde están?" or "Un poco a lo Felisberto", originally composed for piano, were reinvented. The ballet suite "La Tregua" adapts part of the music that Supervielle composed especially for the National Ballet of Sodre. It is a central work of this album, not only because of what it means personally to its composer but also because it perfectly summarizes all of Luciano's musical universes.

Montevideano is a fundamental milestone in Luciano Supervielle's career, who, together with the Philharmonic, managed to unite like never before the worlds of classical music, hip-hop, and Montevideo's roots with his compositions. But more than a culmination, this album is at once the beginning of new paths and the continuation of the constant search for a unique style. As Luciano Supervielle himself wrote some time ago: "The ocean is ever more vast.”
