Part of the Jean-Pierre Leloir Collection, Ella & Louis was the first of the albums pairing Louis Armstrong and Ella Fitzgerald produced by Norman Granz. The 180 gram LP was a huge hit upon its release in 1956, and has only grown in popularity over the years. “Ella & Louis is one of the very, very few albums to have been issued in this era of the LP flood that is sure to endure for decades”, wrote Nat Hentoff in his Down Beat review.
