Signed to Geffen, with Vicky Hamilton in their camp, the label's big boss had high hopes for Steve Napoleon and his band. With the help of a few outside musicians during the recording sessions, the twelve-track album became a fantastic work featuring classy pop metal, close to alternative options such as Saigon Kick and Extreme, elements of hard rock, AOR, new wave, alternative rock, and classical music from the late 80s/early 90s hair metal scene. The result is a highly original album and one of the most underrated of its time. Hopefully, with this remastering, songs like Love/Hate and Whipped Silly will win over hard rock fans; there isn't a single filler track, every song is in its right place.
