Kind of Blue, which started the modal jazz style, remains one of the most iconic and influential jazz albums of all time. It features the All-Star Miles Davis Sextet, with the leader on trumpet, John Coltrane on tenor sax, Cannonball Adderley on alto sax, Bill Evans on piano on most of the tracks (he is replaced on one by Wynton Kelly), Paul Chambers on bass, and Jimmy Cobb on drums. It contains the original versions of tunes that would become standards, such as "Blue in Green", "All Blues", and "So What".
