To mark the tenth anniversary of their debut album L’ISOLA DEI DANNATI, MONDO SANGUE stage REMAKE as a self-reflexive meta-sequel. Instead of releasing a conventional greatest-hits compilation, the duo revisits the discography of their “Mondoverse” like a stylish director’s cut — deconstructed, re-edited, and newly dubbed by an illustrious international cast of collaborators..
All six previous albums — rooted in soundtrack aesthetics, Giallo references, and cinematic pop culture — serve as source material for these international “remakes.” Artists from Germany, France, Italy, Spain, and the United States reinterpret selected tracks, transforming them into a stylistically unrestrained episodic feature that moves between disco, italofunk, and pop, while the unmistakable charm of classic Italian genre cinema remains the guiding thread throughout.
Featured guests include Andreas Dorau, Stefanie Schrank, Mille Petrozza, DJ Friction, and Zwanie Jonson, alongside international acts Eroina (FR), Carlos Valderrama (IT), Arturo Banbini (ES), and Dave Neabore (USA), among others. A special cameo appearance comes from legendary Italian film composer Fabio Frizzi. At the same time, MONDO SANGUE themselves remain firmly in the director’s chair of this retrospective, contributing brand-new reinterpretations of their own work.
