"WIR WAREN HIER" is the name of the new studio album by the band DIE NERVEN. It is the trio's sixth album. Kevin Kuhn, Julian Knoth and Max Rieger wrote the new songs in a four-week session in a former Michelin-starred restaurant in Stuttgart's Schlossgarten with a view of the opera. And DIE NERVEN have never come as close to the aura of their live performances as on "WIR WAREN HIER" -the musical spontaneity of their interplay on stage, the stop-and-go of their improvisations, the joy of surprising each other, and finally: the collective release into catharsis. Their music is still angry, loud, dramatic, perhaps one could even say nihilistic. But it is a more mature nihilism than the NERVEN have been known for so far. In their music, you still fly over heaps of scrap metal, arid heathlands, desolate countries and barren cities. But there are now also beautiful splashes of sound shimmering over the scene, like the last rays of sunshine before an eternal night or a colorful, shimmering oil film on a polluted sea.
