Iver Kleive and Knut Reiersrud: A musical journey in Nidaros Cathedral After decades of dreaming and countless musical experiences, Iver Kleive and Knut Reiersrud finally seized the opportunity to record their music in the majestic Nidaros Cathedral. During the four winter nights they spent in the west aisle under the impressive rose window, they drew on the history and atmosphere of this venerable place, which has attracted pilgrims for centuries. Here, amidst walls that tell stories of faith and devotion, the music for their new album ‘Vidunderligst av alt pa jord’ was created. Kleive and Reiersrud, who began more than 30 years ago with the legendary album ‘Bla Koral’, have masterfully explored the interplay of organ and guitar in their works. Their repertoire ranges from traditional hymns to Norwegian folk tunes and also includes contemporary compositions. With each new work, they breathe new life into these melodies and bring out the treasures of the Norwegian musical tradition in a fresh light. The new album not only reflects the musical diversity, but is also a tribute to the long history of Nidarosdom. From ancient Gregorian chants to modern national classics such as ‘Til Ungdommen’, Kleive and Reiersrud impressively combine tradition and innovation. Their music thus becomes a wonderful journey through time that can touch the heart of every Listener.
