Mexican duo Sotomayor, siblings Raúl and Paulina, have built their name on a seamless fusion of electronic beats and Latin American rhythms. Over the past decade, they've become a key force in modern Latin dance music, headlining major festivals across LatAm, selling out shows across the Americas and Europe, and earning international acclaim for their global perspective on club sounds. Outside of the project, Paulina launched her celebrated solo project Pahua, while Raúl produced under the name Tonga Conga, further expanding their creative reach.
WABI SABI, their first album in six years, marks Sotomayor's 10-year anniversary with their boldest statement yet. Written in just two weeks and recorded in Puerto Rico with 28-time Grammy winner Eduardo Cabra (Calle 13), the album blends house, afrobeat, cumbia, dancehall, plena, and kuduro, drawing on influences like Jamie xx and Nu Genea while staying true to their Latin roots. Urgent and precise yet organic and textured, the record explores cycles, resilience, and self-discovery, offering their most electronic sound to date. A celebration of imperfection, WABI SABI captures a group rediscovering its identity while pushing its music into exciting new territory.
