Infamous Mark Knopfler from Dire Straits, with his side project; The Notting Hillbillies, including Brendan Croker, Steve Phillips, and Guy Fletcher. They recorded just one album together, ‘Missing...Presumed Having a Good Time,’ before the members returned to concentrate on their primary musical outlets. The result is a low-key, lively run-through of mostly traditional, blues-based songs with a handful of originals. The styles range from the stunning harmonies of ‘Railroad Worksong’ with some somber guitar from Knopfler, to the '50s-style rock ballad ‘Bewildered,’ to the cheerful, tropical-flavored "One Way Gal.” A polished production of the time, an easy listening composition, and a codified vision of the blues.
