Our Label Records Vol. 1 presents a selection of out of stock and rare Funk 45s from the label's twenty year history.
These ten tracks make “Our Label Records Vol. 1” an absolute sure shot for Funk fans, vinyl enthusiasts, DJs and collectors. The first 500 LPs come with a bonus 45 from the Our Label catalogue.
In 2005 the brothers Tom and Gu started with the release “Give Me A Minute (Part 1 & 2)” by The New Mastersounds from Leeds, UK, and have since been working with bands from all over the globe. Especially in the early years Unique Records provided the much needed distribution to quickly establish a good reputation, especially with DJs. This compilation features uptempo Funk, smart breaks and soulful grooves working dancefloors like a charm. “Give Me A Minute (Part 1 & 2)”, written by Gu, was sold out after three months. The Keb Darge/Eddie Roberts production “Bread & Water” by The Inmates was gone after half a year. And the “Song 2” cover by Diazpora even was featured in the TV-spots for a UK casting show. Mothergroove, Sir Ali Bengali, Wake&Bake! and Renegades Of Jazz provided classic material for the vinyl crates of DJs worldwide, always making for a packed dancefloor. Some of these bands had their first releases on Our Label Records. The compilation als features the previously unreleased uptempo track “Smudgin'” by The King Rooster. These ten tracks make “Our Label Records Vol. 1” an absolute sure shot for Funk fans, vinyl enthusiasts, DJs and collectors.
The first 500 LPs come with a bonus 45 from the Our Label catalogue.
