No complexes for the BLACK BLOUSONS whose enthusiasm and carefree are such that the pieces become delightfully jubilant.

Their two unique EP, true "UFOs", were released respectively in 1961 (EP "Special Rock") and 1962 (EP "Special Twist") on the Guilain label. It is quite naturally in the repertoire of the national groups that BLOUSONS NOIRS drew their covers of French rock'n'roll standards ... to massacre them with enthusiasm! The Black Socks, the Wild Cats and 2 titles of Johnny are thus in the spotlight and only "The fools of the twist" turns out to be an original composition of their producer the young Claude Ghislain. For the record, their "Eddy Be Good" was originally the "Johnny B Good" of Chuck Berry. Congratulations guys, a great job!

A long year separated the recording of the 2EPs without any improvement being really audible. The BLACK JACKETS were bad and did not care much, obviously. The use of the same photo for the cover of the 2 discs reinforces the feeling of "total loss" and "je-m'-foutisme" assumed if rock'n'roll.

We can always reduce this group to a joke of potaches, a curiosity, but whether you like it or not, BLOUSONS NOIRS are precursors of Punk and DIY spirit. For you to understand well, remember that it will be necessary until 1964 that Hasil Adkins publishes his "She Said", 1965 so that the Peruvians of Los Saicos put in box "Demolicion", and 1966 so that the Legendary Stardust Cowboy delivers us his killer "Paralysed". The Shaggs and their late "Philosophy of the world" in '69 are obviously out of the race.

To become a group quite "cult", BLOUSONS NOIRS only had to remain in anonymity. Our investigations were therefore futile to try to identify these rockers. We only know that they have nothing to do with the namesake group that served as backing band to Tony March, the Elvis of Aquitaine. In fact, the only information concerning the identity of BLACK BLOUSONS comes from Marc Liozon (Editor-in-Chief of the fanzine club The 60s club) having found a copy of the second EP autographed by the group for the benefit of some Minie. We discover that the band would be composed of a certain Clod, solo guitarist, a Jo on the rhythm guitar, a Did on drums and finally a certain Samy singing ... A nice skewer!

In short, no known civil status, no concert, no photo, 2 hard drives out of nowhere ... Long live the Punk, Long live France, Long live the BLACK JACKETS!
