LA based Australian singer-songwriter Hazel English collaborated with Day Wave, also known as Jackson Phillips, to create the album Real Life between 2021 and 2024. The songs are filled with a gentle, comforting sound characteristic of what is often referred to as bedroom pop, reminiscent of her early work, particularly Just Give In / Never Going Home.

In addition to the five tracks included in her 2022 release, Summer Nights EP, the album features singles and other songs that were released later. From dreamy, bittersweet summer romance tracks to songs that evoke a sense of nostalgia, the collaboration between Hazel English and Day Wave confirms their special appeal to indie rock fans.
