Amateur Academy, Moonriders' ninth album released in 1984 and renowned as a masterpiece/controversial work, is being revived as a 40th anniversary edition!

The CD includes 4 bonus tracks, and the set also comes with a DVD containing additional footage from the legendary Shibuya Kokaido concert that was held in the same year as the release - a must-have for fans!

Moonriders, a treasure of the Japanese rock/pop scene, will celebrate their 50th anniversary of their debut in 2026. This masterpiece, which represents the turbulent 80s (cover photo by Ijima Kaoru), is celebrating its 40th anniversary with a luxurious expansion edition. It will be reissued for the first time in a long time.

This is the only album in their history in which they employed Shigeki Miyata, A&R for their record company at the time (RVC/Dear Heart), as an external producer.

The titles of all the songs are symbolized (unified with English abbreviations and numbers), the studio time was 500 hours, it took one week to create the sound of the bass drum, and three studios were used at the same time. There are many anecdotes about the production of this album. It was said to be the most controversial work in the band's history.

Also, since it includes many popular songs that are still often performed live, such as "30 (30 Age)" and "G.o.a.P" many people are calling for a reissue.

This 40th anniversary edition includes 4 bonus tracks on DISC 1 (CD) selected from singles and other takes that were not included in the album and were added in previous reissues. DISC 2 (DVD) includes the songs released on the album. To commemorate this, four songs are included as footage from the legendary live performance held at Shibuya Public Hall on July 14, 1984.
