A band you need to check out next in Korea’s rising shoegaze scene—FOG—is gaining attention not just in Asia but also across the US and Europe.
This six-piece shoegaze band consists of Gyn (Vocals & Guitars), Ryu (Guitars), Oh (Bass), Bang9suk (Drums), Park (Synths), and Guinneissik (FX). They have also been active as support members for Parannoul and Asian Glow. Now, their two simultaneously released albums from last November, "fogesque II" & "fogesque III," are finally coming to vinyl.
"fogesque II" leans toward a heavier, more downbeat shoegaze sound with elements of alternative and psychedelia. The album features tracks like "Oars" (M2), a brooding and weighty piece, and "Facade" (M3), which echoes the post-3rd album DIIV aesthetic. Another standout is "Listerine" (M5), where eerie lead guitar lines intertwine with dense, heavy sonic textures, solidifying the album’s deep and immersive shoegaze atmosphere.
