"79 Live" captures Friction's live performance at Takutaku in Kyoto in December 1979, four months before the release of their first album "Kairai," a masterpiece that shines brightly in the history of Japanese punk. This live performance, which has been talked about as Friction's best performance, was released in 1980 as a privately released 10-inch LP, and was only experienced by a very small number of enthusiasts. This legendary live performance, which Reck himself called a "miraculous performance," has been reissued on a 10-inch record based on a CD produced in 2005 using a newly discovered tape.

A few months before the release of "Friction", Friction was at its peak, and their incredibly high-tension performance is overwhelming. In particular, Reck's vocals are incredibly powerful throughout the album. It includes "Pistol" and "Kagayaki", which were not included in "Friction". This is one of the works that cannot be left out when talking about Friction.
