This work may be said to be a replacement for Friction's second album, "Skin Deep" (1982), a historically controversial work that caused controversy in many circles when it was released. With the same lineup as "Skin Deep" -- Reck (b/vo), Chico Hige (ds), Emiko Mogi (g), and Haruna Schultz (tp) -- Friction's legendary live performance at the Japan Japan Festival held in Rome in the summer of 1984, overwhelmed the audience with an unprecedented freshness that was neither punk nor new wave. This is the first LP reissue of this legendary documentary, which was released as a private album the following year in 1985. Of course, it uses the same master as the 2006 CD version, which was reissued with the best possible sound quality (excluding the three additional tracks on the CD).
